Articles may be replicated in the different collections – crossover between collections
For comprehensive searches, you should use Multiple tools, including commercial services such as Proquest
Semantic scholar uses Springer, T&F, Wiley, SAGE, Pubmed, Microsoft Academic graph (MAG) et al
Microsoft Academic Graph (MAG) was a major source of articles information for the Gen AI tools, but it was decommissioned,
with no access after 2021 - a loss of a major source for these tools. Some MAG content was captured by OpenAlex.
As you can see from the diagram below, commercial databases include some material that won't be seached by Gen AI Journal searching tools:
This is why it is important to use a variety of sources for a comprehensive search.
There is significant crossover between collections, eg Open Alex indexes microsoft academic material, and Semantic Scholar indexes Pubmed.
