Evaluating Information Sources

Evaluating Information

The second information skill you will need to learn is evaluating information. Not all the information you come across will be appropriate.

This section will teach you how to evaluate your information using a framework (the CRAP Test).

At the end of this section, you will be able to:

  • Distinguish scholarly and academic works from Popular information
  • Use the CRAP test as a way of evaluating your information to make sure it is suitable to use.
