Academics need to use the dedicated Reading list system for their units.
Unit readings or lists of copyrighted information that support Units - all need to be published for access by our students via our FLEX platform.
Once they are sourced by library staff, and made available via the FLEX platform, we will ensure they are copyright compliant with with CAL (Copyright Agency Limited). The library hosts reading lists for units on FLEX. This is a copyright compliant reading list platform, with a dedicated page for reading list resources for each unit.
Links to full text articles, or PDFs or files of the full text are NEVER to be uploaded by academics directly to the Unit Module on Moodle. The library staff need to provide the article access via the FLEX system in a copyright compliant manner (as Enforced by CAL), and then links to the articles or the entire reading list can be made available in FLEX or reproduced in Moodle.
Course coordinators are authorised to produce and decide on Unit Reading lists for Units. Course coordinators can then send those reading lists/prescribed book information to the library staff, so we can update the reading list each semester via FLEX.
By putting reading list documents straight into Moodle, academics can cause issues with copyright:
(1) linking to non copyright compliant files online
(2) Uploading illegal or non copyright compliant files to Moodle.
